- Mar 23, 2018 -

Cellulose ether is one of the most abundant natural resources on earth, with low cost, biodegradation and environmental pollution. Therefore, all countries in the world attach great importance to the research and development of cellulose.

At present, cellulose ether has been widely used in paint, household chemicals, pharmaceutical, textile, plastics, tobacco, adhesives, film and other industrial fields and research fields. In cellulose ether products, carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC), hydroxyl ethyl cellulose (HEC), hydroxypropyl cellulose (HPC) and hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose (HPMC) as the representative, products have been commercialized

Application in food

In 1971 the world health organization identified microcrystalline cellulose as a food additive. In the food industry, microcrystalline cellulose is mainly used as emulsifier, foam stabilizers, heat stabilizers, the nutrition fillers, thickener, suspending agent, shape fixative and control of ice crystal formation of the material.Microcrystalline cellulose is widely used in the United States to produce frozen food, cold drinks and cooking sauces. In 1975, Germany began to produce microcrystalline cellulose, and used microcrystalline cellulose and sodium carboxymethyl cellulose as food additives to produce salad oil, milk fat and dextrin.
